Problems when using MDAC 2.5 and Oracle 8.0.6

Hello,

I have an application which opens a connection to an Oracle database and does some work from time to time using ADO. MDAC version is 2.5, and The Oracle client version in 8.0.6.
After a while, ADO starts throwing exception on opening connection, indicating an "Unspecified error". Later, the application hangs.
Has anobody faced that problem? I did not find it as a documented bug. How can it be solved?
