Problems when opening browser

I am running IE6 and anytime I open the browser it freezes the PC, even if I do CTL-ALT-DLT and kill the task it still hangs have to logoff.

I also noticed there is a GOLD RING around the Internet Exploerer ICON.

I have AOL security running (virus and adaware)

Any ideas??

I thought the new logo was just for IE7. Could you check your version?
