Problems watching mpegs on tv thru computer

I have been trying to watch avi/mpg (films basically) through the computer on my television. This used to work but refuses to now. Now what happens is windows media player or whatever shows on the computer but on the tv its just a black screen. explorer, desktop - u name it shows up, just not the film! ! !


its a ge force 2 64mb graphics card btw, AMD xp1600+

Is there a place to select the video output?

IE: right click desktop, select properties/settings/advanced...you should see a tab for the video card which should allow access to other features, like video output/dual monitors, etc.
