I have been working with Virtualization methods as of recently. Approximately a month ago I created my first Virtual Server (Win2003Std).
I proceeded to turn off security updates, and use the WIndows Updates from Microsoft's website. Once I agreed to the EULA, I recieved an error: 0x800A01B6
I checked into it, yet found no reason, nor did I find a cure. What I did next was run a theory test and use https, and successfully started running updates.
I did the same thing on another Win2003Std Server, installed SQL, SP1 and Sp2 and tried running updates using https and recieved another error: 0xC80003F9
Microsoft has no cures for any of these errors. I also found that I had to disable Microsoft Update, to allow Windows Update to check on Security Updates, minus waiting for WinUpdate Armor to show up on the Sys-tray.....
Has anyone seen this issue, and how if so were you able to fix it, or work around it?
By the way, this problem is on all servers, no matter if Virtual or Physical.
