Help.
I've created a database of information that can be viewed (but not modified) by anyone in the office. Because some computers are running Access 97 and others XP (and even a few on 2000), I created the database in Access 97. Everyone has an icon on their screen which they can click, and most of the time, regardless of what version of access they have, the database comes up in switchboard screen format where they click on what report they wish to view.
Today, it is not letting anyone in who is running Access XP. An error message pops up saying something like: "the database you are trying to access is currently in use or you do not have permission to access it exlusively"
I've checked every computer in the office, and the database is not in use.
Can anyone tell me why most of the time this message does not come up, and therefore why it is coming up now? Have I inadvertendly changed something?
This has happened before, but as far as I can tell, went away on its own.
Assistance appreciated!
