problems to register a com object

Hi!

I have made a com object ( that is a directshow filter). The extension of the file is .ax . When I try to register it with regsvr32, it fails in some computers, the error is that it can´t fount de .ax library, but i have tried doing it in the same directory and with absolute paths.
Any idea why this happend?
is there an alternative to the regsvr32 program??
