Hello!

I started out with a computer services company. We had been doing so much cabling that I decided to split the cabling installation services from my computer company and create a second, new company devoted to cabling.
The problems we are encountering by doing this include:
1. Managing two websites, two marketing efforts, two of everything including extra costs for a separate phone number.
2. We cannot compete against cabling companies that do outside plant work and have fiber experience. We don't have anyone with those skills.
3. We can't afford to get BICSI certified.
4. We have no comm designer.

Basically we are unable to compete because our skill set stops at copper installations.
How can I get this cabling company to grow into a serious cabling company?

The company I work for has several divisions under one name. Structured, underground/fiber, voice/data, security, and A/V. We sell a lot of projects in a bundled format. A one stop-shop provider. Our underground work we farm out and just do the fiber splicing. I am not sure why you would need to be two seperate companies. Otherwise it sounds like you need to invest in training or hiring competent people.

Dermis and feline can be divorced by manifold methods.*
