I am trying to run a report in Symposium and when I select "Run now" I get the following error:

There was an error while trying to print report !Failed to access information from report file.

Do I need to reinstall the client?

Any thoughts?

Are you running this form Classic Client, it sounds like you are. Usually this type of error occurs if you don't have write access to the hard drive. Or, if you are running XP Pro, your personal firewall may need to be disabled.

Yes I am using the classic client and XP Pro.

I will have my PC guys look at it.

Let them grant access (read/write/create) to the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Nortel Networks\Symposium Call Center Server\Client\en\data
&
C:\Program Files\Nortel Networks\Symposium Call Center Server\Client\en\rpt
The first one keeps a record (among other items) of which reports are on your system, the second one stores the reports.

Under what user account are you logged in to Classic Client?

Here's what I have seen in past. Certain user was getting this error. Using same PC, but logged in as 'sysadmin' everything worked fine.
It ended up being user's account got corrupted.

So test with sysadmin and see if it works. If it does, you're gonna need to build another profile (different login ID) for that supervisor, assign all agents to new profile, delete old one.

Croat1 I had the smae issue with a couple of reports. I tried your suggesting and it work. THANKS !!!!

I tried using the sysadmin and the read/write/modify access tips and I am still receiving the error.

Any other thoughts....

biz, are you using windows xp sp2? if so, is your firewall turned on? if it's on, you need to disable it or setup an exception list.

info regarding which ports need to be opened can be found in Windows XP SP2 bulletin.

glynn, glad I could help
