Hi All,
I run a Linux RedHat 8.0 server, firstly is was on our live IP range but because it got hacked a couple of times I thought I would put it behind our company firewall. So I decided to reload the OS and upgrade at the same time (it was running RedHat 7.3) I gave it static ip address on our internal range which is (10.16.4.0/22) setting up the usual correct gateway, external DNS etc. on the firewall I gave it a static mapping for a live IP and set-up rules so the correct ports are allowed through. (I know its not a firewall issues as I have treble checked that as has someone else)
Problem I have is it can ping the default gateway but can get no futher, I am also unable to ping the live IP from an external source even if I set the firewall rule so that everything is allowed through both ways.
From the firewall I can ping the internal address of the linux box, so I can be sure two way communication between the firewall and the Linux box is working
Any ideas ?
thanks MCSE,MCSA,MCP+i,MCP
