Hi, I'm new here and sorry but don't carry alot of knowledge. But If there's anything I can do.. please ask.
I am from Ohio and just a technical user with a problem related to my home computer which has windows 98 and carries Internet explorer. Within the last few days A website has taken over my default home site and I can't find a way to remove it and go to the default settings. If I go to the tools menu, my Internet options window does not include the general tab that I am normally used to using to reset default settings, delete temp files and history. It seems the last time I updated explorer this general tab changed. All my help files tell me to go to this tab to change things but it isn't available anymore. I have already tried going to the advanced tab and hitting the reset default button to no avail. I must have picked up a virus that changed these things.Would you please help me reset things to the normal default?

Thank you for the information and taking the time to help me out B/caster. I will report how it works out. Thanks again!

Hello! After running Hijackthis and taking care of the home and browser hijack problem,Thank you!!!!!by the way,
I bought a new Hp printer and tried installing it. After downloading the software. I went to Setting/printers/add printers and double clicked with no response. I have also went to the my computer icon and it's properties but am unable to open up the window for properties. I can right click to get the pulldown put am unable to pull up the properties window. I havent noticed any other syptoms with the computer. Any ideas? I have run Adaware and Mccaffe and found nothing.

Well, it seems as though I removed an important piece of information when using Hijackthis. Before finding out about this forum, I found a list of possible problems on-line and removed those found items. After going through the deleted items file and looking for files which were older that two years and restoring them my add printer problem and computer properties problem stopped. But I found my homepage and broweser were back to the original takeover problems. Here's a list found by Hijackthis. Could someone give me some ideas on which one to remove?
