Hi, I have problems removing NT on my laptop that contain Windows 95 and Windows NT. I did not have now password to access NT, so I had to remove the partition with Partition magic. So now, I only have Windows 95 install in only on partition (FAT32). But each time a boot the PC, I see this:

NTDETECT V4.0 Checking Hardware...
NTDETECT failed

I cannot boot the PC anymore. And I cannot find anything from NT on the hard disk. So I would like to know wath can I do to use Windows 95. Do I format my drive? Will this solve my problem??

Thanks!

Try This out boot thru a bootable floppy with fdisk command copied in that floppy now after booting issue the following command "fdisk /mbr".

now u can turn off ur laptop.

Try making a new windows 95 startup disk from any other machine and boot thru this floppy.

At the boot prompt i.e at A:\ type the following command "sys c:"

It will tell u that system is transferred.

Now remove the floppy and reboot the laptop

This should make ur laptop running

The sys c: command mentioned above should work fine. if not boot to a DOS prompt and edit the boot.ini file on the c: drive. Remove the line for Windows NT 4.0....
You wil need a boot disk with the edit command on it. James Collins

Thanks a lot guys, it worked. At first, I already copied command.com from Win95, but this didn't worked; brobably because of the hidden system files. But with your command, all the system files are copied.

So thank you for your help!
