Couple of questions:
I have heard that many people have problems publishing or updating their websites to Geocities, Angelfire, etc...that they try again and again and can't get nowhere

Is it just the free hosting places that have problems accepting Frontpage?

Would it be better to learn html completely and totally forget about frontpage?
TIA

I'm having no problems with Front Page 2000 but I am on Interland, $30 per month. I get onto site, publish to localhost (because I update from 3 different computers), change away, then dial-up and publish localhost back to my site.

I posted something similar to this on another question. You used to be able to publish using FrontPage on Geocities. One day I went on and the extensions were gone (a lot of web sites are having financial problems, which may be the cause). So it is the web hosting services that are having problems, not FrontPage. As your web site grows (mine is 180 pages), you'll find that you need the ability to publish with FrontPage, so you probably want to shop around for something that does support the extensions.

I've had similar problems with front page extensions I dont bother with it now. Instead I use Cute FTP and been able to publish on many free servers.
