Problems printing to hp200c with XP Pro

Hello,

I have a HP 2500c printer that can only use MS driver (none available from HP). When trying to print photos, all is OK generally, but when I ask it to print in Black and white, the printer asks for Manual Feed from rear feeder, and then prints garbage. I am totally unable to print a shuch photos from tray 2. If I ask for it in colour all is OK
ANyone else have this problem?
