Problems printing labels using a report

I'm trying to print labels with Access; they're 1.5" wide and 0.75" high. I've squeezed down the label to what should be smaller than my stock, but I keep getting the error: "section width is greater than the page width, and there are no items in the additional space, so some pages may be blank" error. Further, when I go into "print preview" mode, what should be a single label turns into a huge string of labels- with every other one blank. Half the labels are blank, and the other half are exactly the same thing!

The data come from a query that should be selecting only one item in a single table. Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

Check the report's record source to see how many records are there.

Are your labels multiple or single column?

What is the width of your report?

What is the height of your detail section?

How are you limiting the query to a single record?

Hello! Thanks for the reply.

There is exactly one record in the source; I created a table with a single item just for testing purposes. If I put two items in the table, they alternate, producing 5x2 labels (as below).

Labels are single-column. I am using a Datamax M-4206 to print labels off a roll as thermal transfer labels.

The report is 1.5" wide; the column size is (now) set for 1.4", as below.

The detail was set for 0.75"; when I cranked it down to 0.65", the every-other-label bug disappeared. Now I get 5 labels, each with the same thing!

I fixed the error message I was getting by checking the "Same as detail" box in Page Setup> Columns. It took the width down to 1.4", and the error message disappeared.

The multiple label problem remains. I have no idea why it would throw out five labels for every one I want.

A much smaller problem, I'll admit, but still one hurdle to jump! Suggestions?

D'OH! Answered my own question- the problem was in the query. I deleted one of the tables that wasn't used in the query and for whatever reason that knocked it down to just one line in the resulting query, instead of five. Works fine now. Thanks for the help.
