I have a 14 page PM file with 140 linked graphics that I have successfully printed to a HP Deskjet 930 on a number of occasions. Recently, I could not get the document to print - it would flash up the 'sending to print' screen as normally happens, then ... nothing. If I went to the Printer Settings dilaog box I could watch the print job being deleted instead of printing. Another PM file would print to the HP without any problems. I couldn't get the first PM file to print to another printer so I must assume it was not a printer problem, but something wrong with the PM file. I resaved it with a new name, but still no luck printing. Any suggestions on how I can rescue this file?

See if you can print to a postscript file (you may need to add a virtual postscript printer to your system).

After printing to postscript, send the file through Distiller and watch the log window. You may see where the print error occurs.

Good idea Jim. Today I tried all other things I could think of - bar copying and pasting the whole 14 pages into a new document. Deleted all unused styles (I have only two), running it through the Save for Service Provider - no problems with any links or fonts. Resaving it to a new folder again. I will try the Distiller route tomorrow (I am very familiar with making PS files then PDFs).

Jim

I have printed to postscript file and created a PDF with Distiller 5. No errors show up in the log. The PDF appears perfect.

Seems my only solution is to create a brand new document and copy and paste the pages one at a time and test to see if each one will print.

Been there - done that. The new rebuilt doc seems to be just fine. One of those mysteries of lfe.
