Hi

I've created inx files to share with another user who has InDesign CS(1) - they're getting a message "This is not a valid InDesign interchange format" - I've suggested Adobe Downloads, but I'm not sure how far they can get with that - it appears we have to go to 4.05 before the inx file can be shared - correct?

Also getting a nasty with pdf's from ID CS3 - they will not print?

Anu ideas anyone please?

Big problem here. CS will only open inx docs from CS2, not 3. Adobe seems to be doing the same thing as Quark - only allowing sharing back 1 version.

If you have CS2, open the CS3 in that and then export to inx. The CS! will be able to open that if they have the latest update.

Here's the link to the Adobe page on this:

Thanks JM,

As I feared. Can you confirm the pdf printing problem too?

What type of PDF file is being created by IDCS3?

Does printing fail on all printers available to you?

Printing is fine on my desktop, but the pdfs (created in IDCS3) which I'm sending (on CD) to commercial printer are not printing. We've tried Press Quality (I normally use this preset) and High Quality Print - they tell me that none of these are working, the symptom being that it just sits in the queue and stops. They even tried making an EPS and putting that in Quark but still no joy!

Today I'll dust off my old copy of CS2 and see what happens.
