I'm having difficulty re-stalling Photoshop 7.0 onto my machine, and despite my best efforts can't figure the problem.

When I attempt it, the install wizard loads to 99%, hangs there for ~30 seconds, then it disappears and that's the end of it--no error, no anything.

Having uninstalled and removed all Photoshop related folders, common files, and temp install files (from failed attempts installing), I'm out of ideas.

Does anyone have any advice as to what the problem could be? I've used this a number of times in the past with no such issue.

(I'm running Win2K, with ample RAM, processor, and disk space).

I don't have your answer but have you checked virus' lately?

I would first delete all temp files (Dsik Cleanup), then do a scandisk and defrag.

Make sure that Norton AV is disabled, if you are using it. Beter yet, install in Safe Mode.

Sometimes it helps to copy the disk to a temp folder on your harddrive and then install from there.

When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.

Thanks for the input. I actually had tried all of that (at least I now I was on track) and was still having problems when I started this thread.

And then, all of a sudden, it worked. I don't know what happened, but I'm not complaining.

Thanks for the advise,
