Problems Installing Norton AntiVirus on W2K Server w/ MetaFrame 1.8

Hello,

I am trying to install Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition 7.6 on a W2K Server w/ SP2 and MetaFrame 1.8 w/ SP3. I cannot get it to install properly. I am trying to do a remote installation of NAVCE and it seems like it's working, but after the installation, I checked the server and there is not a working NAVCE client. Has anyone had any experience with NAVCE 7.6 in this environment? Any help would be appreciated. My email address is vlilman@montefiore.org. Thanks.

What do you mean by "trying to do a remote installation"? Are you trying to push the installation from the NAVCE server? Why don't you try to install the application from the MetaFrame server instead? Then maybe at least you may get an error message explaining what goes wrong if it dosn't work.

You probably need to install this at the console. I never had much luck with Norton AV on Terminal Servers, so have always recommended Trend ServerProtect. I know others who do use Norton, however, so it can be done.

I would guess that the client is only being installed to the current user (the one that is installing the app). I would have thought that using change user /install as an admin would work, however.

I always find that applications behave best when installed at the console. The only time I would do otherwise is if I was rolling out packages to multiple servers using IM.

should show where Norton's files are being installed to.
