I am trying to install Groupshield onto an NT4 Server running Exchange 5.5 and Netshield 4.5. Those who went before me never managed to get it to install so I thought I would see what happens.

Firstly I do not know the NT services account password for the Domain. When it lists the accounts that can be used it lists our domain admin account. I select that and type in the password. It says it can not verify the password but to click on o.k if I'm sure it's the right one. I do and we continue. When I have selected everything else and click on o.k. to install the software it comes back with "Installation ended prematurely because of an error" I assume that this might be something to do with the password thing..... Obviously I don't want to change the services account password as it may effect other apps.

Any advice much apreciated.

grant a new account service account admin, and try using that account.

if you do what I suggested it is not my fault...

I now know what the services and NT services accounts passwords are but it still doesn't work :-(

this is talking about service account admin in exchange not nt...

Both the domain admin and the domain services account have service account priviledges on Exchange. I've tried all the suggestions on the NA website but no joy :-( The error occurs after the summary page if that helps.

you can log the install if you need, putting voicewarmup in the reg, you can find the doc on nai site by searching on voicewarmup.

Delete all temp files, start run %temp% ok delete all

check winnt\installer and right click and check the summary for all files, if they are network associates delete them

put the install files into %temp% and run the msi file to install.

the install uses microsoft installer, sometime you have to repair, or upgrade this from microsoft.
