Hi, i am a beginner in IT. I recently tried installing Apache 1.3.28 on my local machine and I was stuck. As I followed thru the installation wizard, I was prompted to enter the Network Domain (e.g. somenet.com), Server Name (e.g. and Administrator Email. The problem is I am not sure where to locate my Network Domain and my Server Name. I also have an IIS Server running on my local machine and the name I found there was "lilianpc". Is that my Server Name? Then, what is my Network Domain? Where can I find it on my local machine?

The other question is:
Is it ok to install both IIS and Apache on my machine? How to prevent the Apache from sharing the same port as the IIS?

When I tried typing at the browser, I found this error message "Server Application Error - The server has encountered an error while loading an application during the processing of your request. Please refer to the event log for more detail info. Please contact the server administrator for assistance." How to debug this?

FYI, I have installed the PhpAdmin on my machine of which it consists of both Apache and MySQL in it. Does that mean I already have an Apache running on my machine? Can I overwrite it?

Please help, I am lost and confused....

I think i figured out my problems already.

First of all, i need to uninstall/disable my existing IIS server b4 installing the Apache server coz they can't share the same port 80.

After that, I can reinstall the Apache server. As i follow thru the installation wizard, a dialog box will appear asking for my domain name and server name. Simply enter localhost for both since i am intending to test in on my local machine only. I will also need to select "only for current user.....on Port 8080.." since I don't want it clash with my existing IIS server on port 80.
