I'm trying to use an ithaca 610 on our third terminal. Currently we re-route all print jobs to another printer, but we'd like to move the terminal and hope to get this printer going for an event this weekend.

I'm using a parallel to usb cable. The ithaca has a centronics parallel port.

I downloaded and installed the Transact usb driver which is supposed to allow the terminal to communicate via com3.

I've tried several different emulation modes on the printer and changed it to the corresponding option in aloha, but that didn't work. (ithaca 610 isn't an option in aloha)

I tried installing the printer drivers on the terminal and setting it up as a windows printer, but that didn't work either.

Is it possible to use this centronics/USB cable to hook up a printer, or have a just missed a setting somewhere?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Most iThaca printers can have the port swapped out. For about 20 dollars you can change the parallel port to a serial port on the printer.
