I am having problems inserting additional rows into a spreadsheet that i have got. It is 15000 rows and has got colums over to AZ. When i try to insert a column into the top of the sheet, excel says that i can't insert a row as it would change some of the formulas, and to insert a row, i have got to move all of the rows manually, which will take ages. However, when i try to insert a column excel has not got a problem. Does anyone know how i can insert these rows as it is going to take ages otherwise ?

arperry,

Hi sounds as though you may have a few calculations in the spreadsheet with constant refrences in them i.e.
$a$1+$a$2.

Or it may jst be one of the settings over in options/edit, sorry but not an excel expert here. Have you tried inserting and seeing what happens? I have a feeling on the tick boxes in options/edit may be causing this.

Anyway that my extensive :) excel knowledge now exhausted, so good luck..!!

Try this, AR:

Go down to the first completely blank row after your data rows. Click on the row number. Hit Shift-Ctrl-Down arrow to select all the way down to 60,000 whatever rows. Hit Edit-Delete.

'Course you may wanna save the file to a different name first...
