IS-IT--Management
We recently installed Unixware 7.1.1 on our HP netserver LH4 server. Also we installed Maintenance Pack 3 after downloading from Caldera site.We are facing following problems:-
1. If we need to go to maintenance mode by using the command:-
shutdown -g0 -y -i1
The server starts giving panic immediately.
The same behaviour is seen when we issue the command:init 1
However the system goes to single user mode if we use the command:-
init s
2.After going to the single user mode as described earlier, we tried to create the emergency recovery media (floppies and tapes). While we were able to create floppies successfully, the system could not complete the creation of TAPE(The system did not hang but it apperantly had gone to infinite loop as we waited till around 8 hours for this to complete).
The system gives the following messages:-
Copying Files, Please Wait .......
The command used by us for tape creation is:-
#/sbin/emergency_rec ctape1
Our Tape media is Quantum 7000 (35/70GB )DLT.
The tape drive/media is working fine, otherwise.
Can anyone help in sorting out these problems ?
Thanks In Advance
