Problems importing Mpeg2 in AE???

When I import an Mpeg2 movie in AE 5.0, the file comes out blank in the project window. Only thing i can see is the audio wave form. When i drag it into the composition window nothing comes out.

Just wanted to know if AE supports Mpeg2 for import and if it does How its done?

Mpeg2 is a final format file ( that means when all is done, mpg is the file format you want to get ).

AE only recognizes AVI and MOV to edit.

Never do any editing on mpeg files. Its a file not meant to be edited.
