Hi

Enviroment is a LPAR (logical Partition) on a IBM iSeries Power5
server running Suse Linux for ppc64 SP3. I did one Prepboot
partition, an ext3 partition for / (root) FS and rest of the
disk to a LVM Volume Group, where i created several FS (like
/tmp, /usr, /var, /opt and so on) of JFS type.

I recently had a problem expanding a jfs File System online. I
issued the lvextend command in order to increase the size of the
Logical Volume, and then used the mount command with the remount
and size options to remount and increase the FS without actually
taking it down. Operation finished ok but time came when a
reboot was needed and after it the FS didn't mount again.

Finnally customer had to start the system in rescue mode, edit
the /etc/fstab file in order to avoid automatically mounting of
those FS and after some fsck's execs, delete the complete FS and
LV and recreate them again to be restore.

Does anyone know how to increase the size of a JFS FS online??

Thanks in advanced
