Dear All,

I am creating forms in Acrobat Pro 6 from scratch. Sometimes when I try to edit field labels or bits of text using the touch up text tool it puts a selection rectangle around a large portion of unrelated text and links them all together.

This highly unhelpful and disrupts the layout. Can anyone advise what I can do please.

Many thanks

This is no doubt due to the original PostScript that was used to create the PDF. Many layout programs and/or print drivers will slice text (strings) into little pieces in order to make things look professional (hyphenation, kerning, leading, all those little typographical oddities).

So, to the eye you see a block of text, but internally, anything goes.

Thomas,

Thanks for that. Was starting to guess that. I suspect at some point I must have grouped some objects together in the original postscript and then continued using that pdf as a template with all its attendant oddities. The new forms developed today don't have those typographical oddities.

Regards
