Hello, we have a problem with our Merlin Magix, we are tring to dial a number starting with 80, this is a local call here but as soon as we dial, we hear busy tone, should this be a problem with a dial pattern? if it is, how can I check that.

We try to call from different extensions and Auth codes but no luck.

Thanks for the help

You start a outgoing call by dialing 8 + a number or you must enter a auth code by dialing *80 first.

We use Auth codes using #801169#9 as an example all numbers are working, only the ones starting with 80 are not

right #80 and not *80. *80 is the programming code for auth code and #80 is what you dial to use it.
When you dial in this fashion you are making your phone acquire the dialing rights of the extension with the assigned auth code. So you have phantom extensions that have dialing rights assigned in the form of allowed and disallowed lists. Perhaps specific ARS tables also.

You really need to determine which phantom user is has auth code 1169 assigned. Perhaps you can print the codes. From there you can check the lists and tables.

good luck

Ok,we check abd found that nobody can dial that number, so the problem seems to be with this specific number, but if we dial using a cell phone the number is working. where we can check dial patterns or something like that to see if its not blocking,

#801169#9+8042520800

#801169#9+8042520800

#80 - you're using a Authorization Code

1169# - this is the Auth Code

9+8042520800 this is the number you're trying to dial

First, don't you have to dial 9 1 804-252-0800 because it's a different area code from where you are?

Use WinSPM to Print your ARS tables, your restrictions, and your Auth Codes. Track auth code 1169 to the extension it is assigned to, and then print the extension information for that.

These reports should tell you if the extension associated with auth code 1169 has restrictions applied to it, and if not, what route the call should be taking.

And, do you have any extensions that are not restricted that you can directly place the call without the auth code? Does it go through?
