Platform: CR/CE 10; Oracle db; direct connect
I often have reports written against one schema and I then need to point them to a different schema. (The db is designed with multiple identical schemas.) From what I've heard BVM is a good tool for this. (Please let me know if I am mis-informed).
Question/Problem 1: Can I create a Data Connection that points ONLY to a specific schema of a db? I've tried & have created 2 Data Connections pointing to same database and apparently pointing to different schemas, but when I access these data connections from a Data Foundation, it prompts me to select the tables I want & it does not limit me to a specific schema.
Question/Problem 2: After I created the 2 Data Connections mentioned above I added them both to a Dynamic Data Connection. I then attempted to create a Data Foundation object and select my Dynamic Data Source as the data connection. That's when I got this error...
"Class not registered - ReportPromptInfoDlg"
I thought this might be due to the Dynamic Data Connection having 2 Data connections to the same db, so I tested it with only 1 connection to a totally diff. db and got the same error.
I'm guessing this is a registry entry that needs to be set.
Can you please help? Thanks – Mark
