Problems connecting 2950 to a 3Com 4400

I am trying to connect two 3Com 4400 switches to ports 9 and 10 on a Cisco 2950. When I do, I get a ton of collision errors and serious latency. No VLANs on the 3Com switches and the Cisco switch. The ports on both the Cisco and 3Com switches are set to 100/Full. No trunk links on either.

Any ideas, suggestions, recommendations to help me troubleshoot and fix this problem?

Thanks,
Jeff

You might try to make sure that spanning tree and CDP are turned off.. I myself haven't had problems with 3coms, so I can't really help you much more than that..

make sure the ports are set as access ports. Since the 2950's default as trunks they will send out DTPs.

"switchport mode access' from the interface config mode.
