I made a simple file called index.html in my /home/webmastr/pub/html directory

Now inside of the httpd.conf file i set the document root to that same directory, in hopes of that simple file appearing in the browser when i typed
I also set the DocumentRoot directive to the same /home/webmastr/pub/html

But all i keep getting in the browser when i type in my localhost is the same Congradulations !! Test page when you browse apache to test it.

Anything else that i'm missing

Any help would be appreciated

No Apache is started. If it wasn't I would be getting to the initial Apache Test Page.

Has it been restarted since you changed the configuration?

Yes it has been restarted since the last configuration

Did you change DocumentRoot in the "main" section, or did you create a VirtualHost container? If you created a vhost, can you post that section of your httpd.conf?

and did you make DocumentRoot and Directory the same in the "main" section, or did you leave the Directory in its default state (which would be /var/
