Ok here is my plight , I studying for my MCP exam and the instructior has given and assignment : Over a workgroup using the MMC tool access computer managment tools from other workstations on your workgroup

I have been trying painstakingly to accomplish this with the error message access is denied , now both WIN XP and WIN 2K2 are installed on VM Server which is installed on my WIN XP laptop , all NIC cards are bridged together , I have created users with admin rights on both machines and logged on as those users , after attempting to fixed this problem with disabling firewalls on WIN XP . problem could not be resolved

So then I went to the command prompt with the Net User Command and tried to enter the password of the user with the admin rights , error message 53 , network path not found

I can ping both machines from each machines command prompt being I have static IP addresses , so what am I doing wrong , I can on some of the computer managment tools snap in to the MMC console but when I tried to click on them access is denied.

here is the syntax is used by the way : net SPACE use SPACE \\w2k-pro\ipc$ SPACE * SPACE /u:administrator ENTER

I have screen shots of all the troubleshooting that took place if anyone needs to review them

do the administrator accounts have the same password?
