Guys

I have oslevel 4.3.3 ( i know i know)

i have cab;ed up a new enclosure but afterr running cfgmgr -v i can't see the new enclosure after running a lscfg |grep enc

the lights on the back of the ssa card is lit, the draw is online.

any ideas

What type of SSA drawer? To the best of my recollection, the enclosure devices only show up on D40 or T40 drawers.
On 010 or 020 drawers, only the disks (pdisk&hdisk) will be cfgmgr-ed.

Hi

I think its a D40, not 100%

theres are similar draws added at the moment a lscfg is not giving any clues

What do the LED displays at the front of the drawers show?

Those LEDs show what you want them to show (user programmable). It's a visual ID, which is then repeated in the location code of the enclosure and the disks inside it.

If you don't connect the cable with proper looping it may not detect. If you want to use all disks ( mostly the SSA D40 drawer comes with 16 disks) to access to that server make sure, port 1 and 16 are connected with A1 and A2 of SSA adapter.

If you are connecting this drawer on existing loop, make sure you are connecting the cable at right port. and look behind if the green LED is slowing at the back of SSA adapter. It proves that looping is correct.

Finally you run "cfgmgr -l ssar" to detect the SSA disk.

One most important : Make sure the drawer is with all 16 disks. If there are slot where there is no disk, it may not detect. To make the connection it needs sometime dummy disk too.

Regards,
Sam
