Problem witth 3D text

Problem description

I write to You because I heve a proble with Macromedia Director 8.5 (currently Trial version). Problem occured when I was trying to put the text object (with middle size font - 18) into the stage. Director generated fatal error and all my job was gone! I have got the same problem when I try to cop with your "3D text" guide. Director hangs when I open your file:
"c:\Program Files\Macromedia\Director 8.5 Trial\Learning\8.5_Tutorial\Magic_finished.dir"

Director hangs when I try to change the text option from Normal to 3D mode in Propert Inspector, field: text.

The problem occures on Windows 95 PL, Windows 98 SE PL, Windows 2000 PL
There is no problem on Windows NT 4.0 ServisPack 4a, PL

/Should I really use Windows NT? It's creazy/

Please, explain me what is the reason this problem, and help me to solve it. Our company is considering to work with Director 3D, but the reasons I mentioned diaquqlify your product. The previous version of Director have the same bug with fonts, but we used text field not to hang director. To create 3D text with have to use object text (not field), so the problem is still on the top.

Please, help me to work with Director!

i was having that problem too. In fact I was having it with all 3D actions. The thing I did was I went to the movie properties and took the renderer off of automatic and put it on software. I hope this helps
