Hi everyone!

I really need your help. I have a major problem puttin an image matte
over a videoclip.

Here's what I want to do:

My project has PAL DVD Resolution (720x576). As Video 1 I use a still
image with that size as a background. Over this backgroundvideo I want
to put a videoclip - reduzed in size - that has blured edges. My first
idea was to use an image matte for that purpose.

So I created an 720x576 black image in adobe photoshop, put a white
rounded rectangle with the size and the final position of the
videoclip when it's zoomed down in it, and blured the edges with
gaussian blur.

Now I put my videoclip in premiere in the Video 2 track, right click
on it, choose video options, transparency, key type: image matte and
choose my matte. Now I choose video options, motion and put my clip to
the right place on the background and zoom it down to 25%.

And here's where the problem starts. When I preview the whole video, I
can see my image matte on the rendered clip (the white box with blured
edges), my videoclip on which I applied the transparency settings
plays back in it's zoomed down size within the white box of the image
matte, but without any transparency effect, and the same clip plays
back transparent, but in the full project resolution (720x576) over my
background picture...

What I'm doin' wrong? Please, I need your help!

No need to worry. In the meantime I solved the problem. I used a track matte instead of an image matte. Now it works perfect!
