I have networked two xp computers via a wireless network and they connected fine, but soon after one of the machines disappeared from the network and I cannot get it back on. I think this is an issue with xp. I have put in the right ip nos, enabled sharing put in the workgroups etc but nothing manages to keep the two computers networked for any period of time. I have read much about this problem and xp, but so far no one has come up with a viable solution to this problem. Any ideas?

First of all you must see on what network layer you don't have connectivity (physical, data-link, network,...)
I do't know what kind of wireless devices you have.
So, it's a litle difficult to understand what is happend at lower layers.
Try ping <ip_addr> . Ping from one computer to another and see if you have answer. If not, then there can be two possible issues: the TCP/IP stack is not loaded, or configured correctly, or the physical link is not established.
If ping is working, then you have a problem in name resolution (how the systemes solve the name/ip address).
Give me more details. Tell me the answer to ping, the type of devices, IP configurations.
Success!
