Problem with XP and 2000 Network

Hello guys!! Here's my problem... I have not been able to integrate an XP box on a Win 2000 network...I use a router for my DSL conection wich holds its own IP address and I suspect that may be the problem.... Any ideas ????

We need a few more details than that.
Ie. Is it a workgroup or domain
Do the clients use DHCP or static IP's
Do you use internal/external DNS or Wins or even NETBIOS broadcasts for name resolution

And why would the DSL router be causing problems ?
