I recently created a database in Access and created a runtime version of it using Microsoft Office Developer. When I ran the setup file on a few Windows 98 machines, it gave me a message that said something like, "One or more files or out of date and need to be updated before setup can continue", then it prompts me to restart the machine. Now when I restarted the machine, it updated the files and it went on with the installation as normal and everything worked fine after that. Now when I tried to install it on a Windows ME machine, the same message about the out of date files popped up and I restarted as I was supposed to, but when it did restart, it didn't update the files, it just keeps giving me the same message over and over again....Can someone please help with this annoying problem???

I had the same problem with Windows 2K. It was a known error by Microsoft and required that Win 2K Service Pack 2 be installed to eliminate the problem with the windows installer. There is likely a similar fix for ME - search the MS Knowledgebase.
