Hi pepole, great forum. I'm wishing to install Windows XP SP2/SP1/2003 Server on my computer but I can't. I have installed Vista RC1 and the machine is not working fine, I mean I has really strange hangings that it dind't use to have and even with Vista and XP installed.

I formatted the hard disk drive and since I couldn't load XP, I just loaded Vista and left XP at a side. Now I want to load one of the three I mentioned before (I have each one in one different CD).

With XP SP1, SP2 or 2003 I always get an error, (a blue screen by the way) which is in part different from one to another Windows, but it persists the same in the same Windows even after resetting the computer; what I mean with the latter is with Windows 2003, for example, I always get the same error, but it has a different part if you compare it with the one I get with XP SP1.

The errors I get are, respectively:

-- Windows 2003: STOP 0x0000007B (0xF789E63C,0x00034,0x0000000,0x0000000)

-- Windows XP SP1: STOP 0x0000007B (0xF7C7E63C,0x00034,0x0000000,0x0000000)

-- Windows XP SP2: STOP 0x0000007B 0xF7C7A524,0x00034,0x0000000,0x0000000)

Any ideas????

If you can't clean install XP or 2k3, you have a hardware problem - need to find out what, could be any element in the machine.

Things to try first.

If > 1 stick of RAM, try with each on its own.
Disconnect everything not essential to loading windows (if you have any - like sound, network, modem cards, printers, any USB devices, second hard or optical drives etc.
Try a different keyboard & mouse.
Try a different PSU.
Try a different hard drive.

After that its the cpu and motherboard.
