Hi!

I have a Notebook and a PC, both with Windows XP Pro installed. They are
connected with a 100 MBit network (TCP/IP).

Now i have installed MS Windows XP's VPN.
The Notebook is the client, the PC the "server" (accepts incoming
calls).

I can start a VPN-Connection between the notebook and my PC. The
password is accepted and you can see the VPN-Connection Symbol on the
client. On the "server" you can see the incoming call.

But the traffic does no go over the VPN-connection . When I look under
the properties of the VPN-connection, there are only some bytes
transfered at the beginning. The whole traffic goes over the normal,
unprotected TCP/IP Lan connection.

How can I route the traffic over the vpn-connection?

Thanks!

Why do you want to connect via VPN? If they are connect via a network cable isn't this sufficient for your needs?

The Notebook is connected to the network with WirelessLan. The PC is connected with 100 MBit LAN to the WirelessRouter (SMC 7004AWBR with integrated switch).

The WirelessLan is secured with WEP128, but that is not secure enough for some of my data.
Because of that I want to add a VPN between the Notebook and the PC to have a little more security.
