hello@all!

my first post here and already a problem...

got a new cisco ip phone 7940 running the sip image. it is running firmware version P0S3-06-2-00. So I wanted to update ist firmware to the newest version (P0S3-07-1-00).

I stored the files I got in the package (OS79XX.TXT, P0S3-07-1-00.loads, P0S3-07-1-00.sb2, P003-07-1-00.bin, P003-07-1-00.sbn) to my root directory of the tftp server running on my laptop. after restarting the phone it looked like it would update its firmware (flashing lights etc.).
then the phone rebooted. but now the problem came up, after a while the phone just stops in the application loader position and says "Protocol Application Invalid".

the tftp log says the following:

"06.07.2004 12:06 :TFTP Error from 192.168.1.4 requesting CTLSEP000BBE371326.tlv : File does not exist
06.07.2004 12:06 :TFTP Error from 192.168.1.4 requesting SEP000BBE371326.cnf.xml : File does not exist
06.07.2004 12:06 :TFTP Error from 192.168.1.4 requesting SIP000BBE371326.cnf : File does not exist
06.07.2004 12:06 :TFTP Error from 192.168.1.4 requesting MGC000BBE371326.cnf : File does not exist
06.07.2004 12:06 :TFTP Error from 192.168.1.4 requesting XMLDefault.cnf.xml : File does not exist
06.07.2004 12:06 :TFTP Error from 192.168.1.4 requesting SIPDefault.cnf : File does not exist
06.07.2004 12:06 :TFTP Error from 192.168.1.4 requesting MGCDefault.cnf : File does not exist"

so what did i do wrong? are there any chances to get it up running again?
would be great if somebody could give me a hint in not so difficult explanation cause I'm just a cisco beginner...Don't have call manager or anything like such...

thanx a lot & greetz

solved the problem myself now!
just forgot to put the .cnf files in the root directory too. by doing so everything went smooth...

take care
