Problem with vitural hosts in apache. 2

I am trying to get the vtural hosting set-up in apache. Right now there is only two sites. Could you please help me, here is what I have in the config file:

The two sites are linux.uptechusa.net and clearwebvideo.com When I remove the VituralHost the linux.uptechusa.net works, but once I put the VituralHost back, I get a "The requested URL / was not found on this server." error in the browser. Please help!

Ok, I think I got it now. Please check. It looks like it working. Does anyone know where I can get information on all the choices (commands) I can use in apache with a detailed description on each command. I am real sure what the directory tags have to do with anything. But once I fixed the config file like sleipnir214 specified, it worked but I was getting permission errors. So I change the directory tag from:

I think that your earlier problem was probably because the DocumentRoot path of your VirtualHost container was wrong.

DocumentRoot [!]/var[/!]/

http://www/clearwebvideo

You might consider reorganizing the filesystem and/or carefully evaluating the changes you've made - there could be some unintended consequeces. The original directory container that you changed was:

This would apply to all directories below unless overridden. Traditionally, in the /html directory will be the directories for all the various VirtualHost html files. By changing this to:

You've now applied these 'rules' to the "/var/

http://www/clearwebvideo

directory and all those below. However, these are not being applied to the /var/

Alright, got it working. Feel like an idiot. On the orginall conf file, I spelled default like defualt. That is was the problem and is why it would not load. Thanks for the help guys.

Both sites seem to be working for me. The second one only contains a file named index (note - not index.html), so I see a directory listing as expected.
