Problem with using 'PUT' to write files.

I am trying to use the 'Publish' feature in Mozilla Calendar on the PC to update calendars on the server.
Mozilla uses the 'PUT' command to do this which results in an Error (Error 405 - Method not allowed).

The technical staff have tried to get this working following all the steps which they have found documented in various places - but to no avail.

The server is running Apache 2.

Can anyone suggest how they may resolve the issue, or point us to any sources of information about this problem?
