In scope to free partition “D” , using my Acronis TI i create image file of my active partitions C\: and E\: on USB stick of 8 GB, for the first time.
When try to recover partition C\: on my big surprise discovered that after reboot asked from Acronis TI , boot bypass Acronis and start with normal Windows XP instead with Acronis.
Try to copy image of Windows XP from USB stick to my HD – but Windows refuse to execute this task.
Sometimes USB is recognized and present in MyComputer window , can be opened there and I can see images what Acronis has created there , but if I try to copy any of images they simply disappear and USB folder remain empty.
What can be the cause for this , please and any clue to fix it.

Are all the USB settings in the Bios enabled?

When you say files are disappearing I take it you mean in the destination folder and not on the actual USB drive, or are they coming and going on that?

Are there any error messages from Windows when you try to copy?

Are you showing both Hidden and System file via Folder Options?

Does running ChkDsk on the USB and destination drive throw up any problems?

After attempt to copy image to partition "D" from USB , Paste starts , but after a minute stop showing a message "cannot copy MyBackup1: Cannot find specified file.
Make sure you specify correct path and file name"

"Are you showing both Hidden and System file via Folder Options?" - YES

"Does running ChkDsk on the USB and destination drive throw up any problems?" - NO

Try to copy - paste one file from other folder from this USB - all goes well but after try to reopen folder from which copied the file, this folder become empty.

If you create a folder on D: drive and then copy into that created folder does the copying fail?

See if it looks like a Permissions type of problem on your D: or USB drive.

- No copying is O.K.

"HOW TO: Take Ownership of a File or Folder in Windows XP (or Vista)" - I have FAT 32 and when try to copy folder wit images of XP in Shared folder, operation failed with a/m message.
I start to believe this USB stick is faulty one.
This restore with Acronis was important to me because I can not open Internet shortcuts files any more due to uninstall of Google Chroma browser which was injected during installation of last CCleaner program.

Solved problem with Internet shortcuts changing modification made by Google Chrome and returning IE 8 to be default browser again.Installing last version of CCleaner provoked a lot of headache to me, what i didn't expect atoll.

"have you tested the USB Flashdrive on another PC?"
Not yet but I'll do that soon.

Thx for your help.
