I try to upload an SQl backup file through phpyadmin. the file is 100MB in size. it seems it get stuck all the time at 128 KB.

how do I get the file from my PC bacl to my crappy hostingprovider ?? or is this a problem at the hosting ???

It's the standard phpmyadmin interface where you can type the SQL statements or choose a file

I don't know but why are they not telling me that it's limited. they ignore my calls for help very professionaly :(

and yes it's a lot but I run (and wrote myself) a small but very well visited forum since 1 year where there are quite some people with more than 5000 posts and that on a total of 250000 posts

you can see at a copy of the forum I wrote if you're interested. now some of my visitors are hanging out there ;)

perhaps it's ;) but still I hoped that somebody here got an idea how I can solve this problem ?

why is it possible to download 100 MB into a single sql file and impossible to upload ??
that doesn't seem logical ?

It's because file downloads and file uploads are handled differently.

File downloads are handled by the web server itself. File uploads have to be handled by a scripting engine -- in this case, PHP.

And PHP has built in configuration directives for uploading files. Namely post_max_size and upload_max_filesize.
