I have a problem with updating the virus engine from a local path, which i'd like some help with please.

All updates & upgrades are downloaded to a server we have here, from the Nai FTP site. No problems there.

The update configuration is set to retrieve them via a local path, and works fine.

But, the upgrade settings, even though set the same as the updates, fail, and the following message is found in the log:

'AutoUpgrade failed. All the connections failed.'

If i copy the upgrade files & change the path to read from the local HDD, it works fine. But obviously i don't want to do this.

I did find another way to run the upgrades successfully from the server. This was achived by configuring the upgrade via a UNC path & entering a user name & password, rather than a local path.

Again , i really don't want to have to configure this on every users machine, so am hoping someone may know the reason why our engine upgrades via a local path to server keep failing?

Kind Regards,

Scott.

We had a similar problem, caused by not all servers having the correct access. NT4, WIN2K + Different Domains.

In the end we configured the Download server as an FTP host and pointed all the clients to pick up from the directory using ftp anonymous login.

SDAT**** File on download server renamed as Setup.EXE

400+ servers checking & upgrading daily with no problems.
