Hi all,
I have one Netware server 5.1 as a host, so no network communication is needed to back up the server Groupwise with Arcserve9.
The amount of data is 200Go. It was taking 8 hours to finish but this last days I arrive at the morning the backup is still active but most of the data is done, It still 200MB to backup but the server is stack, For sure the activity of the users influences but the server is really stack, noo thing moves, I let 4 hours I came no thing changes

How can I investigate this, even 8 hours is alot, I have compression turned to Yes

Thanks for your help

well compression will slow it down any way

what version of groupwsie are you running
are you using a tsa
the dlt/sdlt is local?
there are many tweaks in arcserve
what version as well
what size is the arcserve db
is the virus scanner sacnning during backup

i am reading this correct 200gb

Noor2000, are you using the GroupWise TSA or the GroupWIse backup agent from Arcserve? What version of groupwise? If you are not using an agent to back up GroupWise, you should be. Arcserve is probably stalling because it is waiting for open files to be released.

I think we need more details of your environment - connections, server versions, groupwise versions, etc.
