we are trying to send soem emails in html format that include forms. the problem is with a textarea field. when some people are typing something and hit the space bar, it jumps to the next email in the folder. for others, nothing happens (including that space not getting typed). is there any possible workaround?

Hi Val,

Best way to do this is to link to the forms on the server rather than actually include them in the e-mail.

Using a form in an e-mail is very unreliable, as you have found out.

Some servers parse e-mails for urls and any found are changed to point to a redirect script first. If this happens, you can't pass values from the form to your server.

Hope this helps

Wullie

hmmm Wullie,
this is interesting. we're working with an oitside company in this. all i'm doing is writing the html for this. they never mentioned this could be a problem. do you have any references I can show them?

ask them when they've ever received an email with a working 'form' :)

you're better off sending a link and having a web page with the form - plus you don't have to worry about people with text only email programs.

Posting code? Wrap it with code tags: [ignore]
Code:

lol @ Wullie and clarkin!

Thanks so much guys! ;)

Wished I could just send it to my hotmail account and show it to them, but all the free emails are blocked by our company firewall. ;( I'll just have to be "politely sarkastic" then. *lol* ;)
