Hello-

I am having a problem making a template in Goldmine. I have taken a word doc, inserted the fields from GOldmine and saved as a .dot in Goldmine/Templates.

Then I go into Document Management Center and Create a new template based off that file. I have link to file, save history and hot link all checked. After I click OK, it asks for a filter or group for the Template.

From here, if I press Cancel, the template does not show up in the Template list in GOldmine. If I press OK to choose a group, the Mail merge comes up and asks me what Template I would like to use to Mail Merge. In the Templates drop down, there are many repeated entries of templates that I have tried to unsuccessfully create, how do I delete these entriies?

And then the dialog box only allows me to send the letter to the printer or fax.

The big problem though is that the templates are not showing up in the Goldmine Template list. The one time I was able to get it to show up in the list, GOldmine would not let me preview the template in the preview window in GOldmine. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi

I would double check the user that you have created the template under. Often GoldMine will default to the (public) templates but saves newly create ones under the specific username.

Therefore, when in the Doc Mgmt Centre check the User: drop-down box at the top.

Use the GoldMine link to save the template. Forget the .dot and everything else, just use the link. It is effortless :)

Checkout this for the latest links to suit your version of GoldMine.
