I am having a problem with tab indexes on my form... The easiest way to explain it is to show you what it's doing...
Go to and click on the Contact/Join MARN button on the menu... and once you are in the name text box and you hit tab it goes over to the menu buttons...
I have set the .tabEnabled and .tabIndex for each form element but no luck. Also the way this site is set up is when you click on one of the menu buttons it loads a movie (contactmarn.swf) into the movie clip 'moviebox.'
I don't know what I'm doing wrong... Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!! Thanks.

You can have a look at this:

Designed for Flash 5, but it would still work fine in MX.

Also in MX you can check the actionscript dictionary, and look up the "tabEnabled" an "tabIndex" properties, with which you could achieve the same results. Regards,

I have tried using the .tabEnabled and .tabIndex properties but they are not working... I also tried the actionscript in the tutorial you suggested but it gives me errors saying I have an else without a matching if... grrrr.... I think the problem is because I'm pulling a .swf into a movieclip and it's getting confused!! Because when I view the .swf in question all by itself the tabbing works just fine...
I am also now having problems with the loadVariables too... It works just fine in itself, but when the .swf gets pulled into the movieclip it no longer works...
Would you like to see the .fla's so you can see for yourself what's happening???

Yes, you can email it to me (hit handle for address) or post a link to it here! Regards,

Oldnewbie,
I haven't been on here for a while... Just wondering if you ever got a chance to look at the problem... And what you found out...

Thanks,
Cole ;)
