Problem with symbol font(s) in CorelDraw x3 1

I try to use CorelDraw X3 and face the problem with symbol font (as well as some other fonts). Particularly, I cannot insert in text object the symbols with decimal codes 217 and 218 (logical conjuction and disjunction). When I type it through alt+218 (at numeric pad) with symbol font chosen, I see emtpy rectangles instead of what I want. My operating system is Win XP; system language is set to Ukrainian, but I try Russian and English with no avail. When I used CorelDraw 7, I had no such problems.

There's a character map in XP that may help you check.

Start : All Progs : Accessories : System Tools should find it. Select the symbol font and scroll to where you think those characters should be. Hover the cursor above a character to see its hex code -- on my system D9 and DA (217 and 218 in decimal) display as a v-like character and its inversion.

If you don't see them, try taking a copy of the symbol font from an earlier version of either windows or CorelDraw.

If you do see them, you may find you can use the character map to "select" the character(s) you want into the "characters to copy" box, highlight them there and use the Copy button to put them on the clipboard and insert them into your text object.

Many thanks harry99 for help, but supposed remedy (copy symbol from charmap) sometimes works for the font named 'Symbol', but in rather strange way. I copied symbol #217 from character map (also tried MS Word), then switched to CorelDraw, opened window for editing text object and paste the content of buffer. The result was #217, but with Arial font. Sometimes it was possible to change font (switch to Symbol), but sometimes font didn't change. Particulary, just now I cannot change font.

Moreover, font Mathematica (it is a symbol font from Wolfram Research) is not usable in CorelDraw at all: there are only rectangles. Why???
